Urban Exploration Films/Documentaries

Above is the trailer for Urban Explorer - a German horror film based on the activity of urban exploring which goes horribly wrong. Despite it's overall favourable reception from critics, the urban exploring community haven't received it well. They say that it not only gives the activity a bad name, but also promotes the more illegal side of it through trespassing and breaking and entering. All of which is openly avoided at all costs when exploring in real life.

Above is the trailer for Urban Explorers - a documentary that's won numerous awards at a number of various film festivals. It's a raw and gripping documentation of what it's really like to explore and investigate the abandoned and 'off-limits' areas that we are aware of. I think this is a great and truer example of what infiltration is all about and I think it's a credit to the community.

Crack the Surface is a series of short documentaries all about urban exploring. For me, it's one of the best out of all the documentaries I've come across when researching for this project. It's up to date and features many locations that are still explored today. It also helps the viewer understand the different types of exploration that can be fairly safe and straightforward, to the riskier which can involve danger for yourself as well as possible arrest.
